The smallest gestures in life touch my heart the most. Reliving the horrors of my past and losing everything...(my job, my home, my husband)...I went through a nasty seperation. I had a two dollar bill, my little dog, an old truck (that had a locked gas cap, no key, and no gas in the tank). I never wanted to spend the two dollar bill. Needless to say, I spent the two dollars.
As I relived the memories with my current husband he listened quietly and gave me a hug. The next day as I cleaned off my desk, I found an envelope with my name on it. Inside was a card and a two dollar bill. The note said "I want you to have your two dollar bill. I love you."

Terrific! In my self-help book, "Adult Loving Relationships," I call those "the big little things."
Carpe diem,
Bill

Absolutely, something I felt so bad about giving up was taken care of in one simple gesture...and
I still have my two dollar bill:)

LOL,
yes, most definitely! I guess the two dollar bill was symbolic in a sense. Losing absolutely everything...and it was just the last piece of my life to go. Letting go of that was like the last 15 years never existed. It was the best thing that ever happened really. Now I see the two dollar bill as my starting point in my new relationship, my new home, new life, new future. It represents the end of one chapter in my life and the beginning of another. Sometimes what I think is the "worst" thing ever, is really the "best". And, "bad" experiences is merely my perception...knowing that, gives me tremendous faith through difficult times. I am glad you reminded me of the importance of my two dollar bill. Thanks for stopping by :) -DH
